I hope everyone’s had a good first week and that you’re all ready for what we hope will be a good term of activity.

I hate to be the barer of bad news but out first meeting this term will not be in the originally advertised rooms in Bramber house but instead the Arts A 002 Lecture Theater, thats the one just off library square. While we hope to have just as much going on please forgive us if we end up limited to one console, we’ll be in more rooms later in the term (once I’ve kicked in the booking office). We’re working to get more screens available for this week so bare with us.

Apologies to those of you who have found the forum a little dead, the committee is currently without internet (Oh the huge manatee!) but please keep using it to chat between yourselves, we’ll drop in when we can.

I hope to see many of you tomorrow at six in Arts A 002!

Currently, I’m the only one with internet on the administration, with the other 3/4 waiting for it to be activated. As such, you’ll have to wait a bit for more information.

Until then, sign up to the forum and talk amongst yourselves! Currently it has annoying anti-bot checks, but I’m hoping to find something a bit more unintrusive.

For our last meeting of term we’ll be running from five till nine for a slightly longer final session.

However, due to the understandably low turnout at the end of term please don’t be upset if you arrive after six thirty and find we’ve all already left because no one was around earlier.

For anyone still keeping up, few as you are, we have now achieved a permanent change of venue.

From now until the end of term we will be in ArtsA 01 and 02, just off library square for some really big shiny screen fun times.

Same time of 18:00 till 21:00 every tuesday.

Yeeeaa, not the entiarty as my poor friend missundertood, just the two lecture theaters one and two just off library Square as described. Whole Building though. Lets make noise! HeheheheeheHAHAHAHAHAH

This means with any luck we can get started right away tomorrow from six in and around Russell Building room 29 every Tuesday starting with the 21st.

On our list for tomorrow so far is as follows:

A run of Castle Crashers, the surprisingly fun Xbox 360 arcade game of 2D swords and sorcery for four people to enjoy. Really good fun and engrossing.

On the PS3 we have Guilty Gear, a good old fashioned 2D fighter with a good pedigree and relatively easy to get into if you’ve not played such games before.

On the PS2 We’ll have a variety of things, but the most likely is Guitar Hero, wearing old for some but we’re more than happy to hear suggestions on the forum, or bring a game along on the day.

If we have a Wii, which we may or may not, then standard fare is SSBM, if anyone still fancies a muck around on that.

I hope to see as many people as can make it tomorrow, as the more the merrier!

Once again, sorry for the late notice.

The aforementioned elections did indeed take place, and SVGS is in the hands of an almost all-new committee.  Here’s a list (also in the email sent to the mailing list):

President - Farrell.  Same fella as last time.  If you knew him then, you know him now.

Information Acquisition and Dissemination - Joe.  Skinny fella, ponytail, sang a lot for Rock Band, was often in the room of wonders across the hall.

Moderator - Charlie.  This’s me - I’m the tall skinny fella with the beard, long hair and glasses that pretty much played nothing but Rock Band.

Resource Allocation - Jon.  He’s the big fella with a beard and glasses, spent much of his time in the room of wonders.

We’re generally at the weekly sessions, so feel free to turn up.  PLEASE, turn up.  We’ve barely enough people to warrant multiplayer games, as it stands.
